Disclosure: Abivo is our product. Facts about other tools come from their own websites or trade coverage as of October 2026.
The short answer: If your MSP already bills from ConnectWise PSA, Autotask, HaloPSA or Syncro and the problem is the invoices that still go unpaid, Abivo takes that follow-up off the owner and the service desk: its AI agent Kate calls, texts and emails clients about overdue invoices and hands scope, seat count and project disputes to your team. For PSA-native payment collection and autopay, look at ConnectWise WisePay, ConnectBooster (Kaseya) or Alternative Payments. FlexPoint has added AI AR agents to its MSP payments platform, and Bill360 offers reminders and payment options for B2B service firms.
MSP receivables look simple because most revenue is a monthly agreement. In practice the ledger mixes agreements, project invoices, hardware resale, licensing and hours over the agreement. Autopay solves part of it. The rest is follow-up: a failed card nobody noticed, a project invoice the client wants to discuss, an overage line the office manager will not pay until someone explains it. When that follow-up falls to the owner or a service manager who also runs the help desk, it does not happen.
This guide compares six options. We left out pricing, because it changes often and most vendors quote by volume.

1. Abivo
Best for: MSPs, IT services firms and managed security providers whose owner, service manager or office spends the week on routine follow-up, especially teams with three or more people involved in collections.
What it does: Abivo's AI agent, Kate, follows up on overdue invoices by phone, text and email, in your company's brand. Reminders name the agreement period, the project or the ticket, and one message can cover every open invoice on a client. Kate records promises to pay, disputes and next steps. When a client questions an overage line, a seat count or a project invoice, Kate hands the account to your account manager with the full history attached, so your technicians never have to ask a client for money.
Controls that matter for MSPs: set the follow-up cadence per client or segment, pause follow-up on one invoice while a scope question is resolved, start follow-up after card retries when you bill through Chargebee, and flag key clients so replies go to the named owner.
Proof: OFS Group, a fire protection company with recurring service invoices, went from four collectors on the phones to one while recovering $842,518 in four months and cutting DSO by more than 30 days. Read the OFS Group case study.
Integration notes: Abivo connects to QuickBooks, Xero, Chargebee and CSV. Your PSA keeps running agreements, tickets and billing, and pushes invoices to your accounting system as it does today; Abivo follows up once the invoice is there. It works alongside the payment tools below. See collections software for managed service providers.
2. ConnectWise WisePay
Best for: MSPs that run ConnectWise PSA or Autotask PSA.
What it does: WisePay is ConnectWise's payment integration for ConnectWise PSA and Autotask PSA. Clients pay by email link or through a portal, can save a payment method for automatic recurring payments, and payments reconcile between the PSA and QuickBooks Online or Xero. ConnectWise lists customizable notifications and payment terms.
3. ConnectBooster (Kaseya)
Best for: MSPs already on Kaseya tools.
What it does: ConnectBooster is Kaseya's MSP billing software: a branded client payment portal, recurring automated billing, automatic card updates, overdue notices and emailed statements, with connections to accounting and quoting tools to reconcile payments.
4. Alternative Payments
Best for: MSPs that want payments, reminders and reconciliation tied to the PSA.
What it does: Alternative Payments lists bidirectional integrations with ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA and SuperOps, native QuickBooks and Xero connections, automated reminders that pause when autopay or a payment is in flight, and automatic reconciliation to the ledger.
5. FlexPoint
Best for: MSPs that want AI agents in the same platform as payment processing.
What it does: In June 2026 FlexPoint launched AR Agents for MSPs. Per trade coverage, the agents monitor client accounts, send reminders by email and phone, answer questions about past-due invoices, and flag when a person should step in, in a co-pilot mode (the MSP approves each action) or an autonomous mode.
6. Bill360
Best for: B2B service firms that want simpler reminders and one-click payment.
What it does: Bill360 offers automated invoice distribution, customizable reminders per customer, card and ACH payments, reconciliation and cash flow visibility.
How to choose for an MSP
Separate payment collection from follow-up. A PSA payment tool gets autopay and portal payments right. The question is who follows up when the invoice still is not paid.
Watch failed autopay. Expired cards and lapsed bank authorizations fail quietly; pick a tool that turns each one into a clear message about what happened and what the client needs to do.
Plan for project, hardware and overage invoices. These are larger and get questioned. The first reminder should name the project or the period, and disputes should reach a person.
Keep it off the help desk. Your technicians should not be the ones asking clients for payment.
Measure. Track DSO, percent over 60 days and the hours the owner or office spends on follow-up each week.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best collections software for an MSP? For follow-up by phone, text and email on overdue invoices, on top of your accounting system, Abivo. For PSA-native payments and autopay, ConnectWise WisePay, ConnectBooster or Alternative Payments.
Does Abivo replace my PSA or my payment platform? No. Your PSA runs agreements and billing, and a payment platform handles autopay and the portal. Abivo follows up on invoices that go past due once they are in your accounting system.
Can AI call clients about overdue MSP invoices? Yes. Kate calls, texts and emails in your company's brand, names the agreement or project, and hands disputes to your team. FlexPoint also offers AI agents inside its payments platform.
